Things You Need to Know About Game

Let me start off simple;

Sacramento by Night is a game built for our players.

Having said that a clarification is in order. No individual players wishes are more important then the game as a whole. No one on staff is going to save someone from another character. There are no Elders that will drop from the ceiling to protect a Prince who has angered one to many Clans. The only Non Player Characters you are likely to see in Sacramento by Night are humans. As far as Vampires go Player characters represent the top of the food chain on a local level.

Sacramento by Night is focused around several themes. It is a good idea when reading the House Rules to keep these themes in mind as the rules will make more sense.

Control:

Kindred are creatures of control; both being in it, and loosing it. The paradox is stifling, a Kindred can control world spanning corporations, amass armies of mortals, and rule an entire Domain, but on any given night they can not control their Beast. To reflect this willpower in Sacramento by Night will be closely regulated, helping to better reflect the instability that is inherent even in the most docile of these master predators.

Dominance:

To a newly made Kindred a human is almost a peer, to an Elder they are a tool or a meal. This difference sets apart the 'classes' of the Kindred and colors every interaction they have with those not of the Blood. Kindred rule the nights in Sacramento, there's a good chance the only thing a normal human will be killing is your humanity rating.

Humanity:

Every action a character takes can have an impact on their Humanity rating, from helping an elderly woman crossing the road to using Possession indiscriminately. Even actions not on the 'Hierarchy of Sins' can erode a characters grasp on their Humanitas. Remember the spirit of the rules, forget the letter of them.
